About how much would it cost to fix my car window?

0 votes
I have '91 Toyota Corolla and once my driver side window goes down, I have hard time bringing it back up.(it's hand cranking type)
I have no AC either but I don't mind the heat. What ticks me off is I can't go through drive-thru...
Is it cheaper to get a door from junk yard like my friends say? But who's gonna attach it?
This is the only problem I have with this car and I've kinds grown fond of this old car.

It sounds like maybe the window is off the thing that raises and lowers it. Try to see if that is the problem. I would listen to your friends and go to the junk yard to see about getting the parts you need to fix it. I do not think you will need a whole door, just the window parts. No idea how much it will cost, but I am willing to bet that it will be cheaper to get the parts from a junk yard!

it shouldn't cost too much what you probably need to do is put some grease on the window slides its pretty easy firs remove the window handle then remove all the screws holding the panel on careful not to forget any of them.you ll have to remove any thing eltse holding the panel in place .when you get the panel off you ll see the windon gears well now take some grease in your fingers and hand and grease all the metal parts slowly move the window up and down with the hand crank get your hands out first if this dosent work bring it to a mechanic the slides need to be replaced hope this has helped you????
