Can I feed my fish every four days?

I am going on a three week Christmas vacation out of state.  I have a ten gallon tank with tetras. I have heard that they can go several days and even a week without being fed. Can They go three weeks, being fed every four days? Or are there other similar variations that I can do where they are not fed a lot over the break? Thank you for the help!
